Last week Winning Futures students at Community High School were surprised with new backpacks filled with school supplies and basic hygiene products. The alternative education program serves nearly 200 students who are at risk of not graduating from high school. The funding for the supplies was a part of SRG Global’s 4th Annual Bennie’s Backpacks charity event, a program that pays tribute to a SRG Global employee who passed away in 2011.
The program delivered 40 backpacks valuing $2500 filled with essential items including scientific calculators, thumb drives, folders, notebooks, crayons, pens and pencils, pencil sharpeners, erasers, glue sticks, scissors, rulers and highlighters. The backpacks also had tooth paste and tooth brushes inside too. The students were very excited to have brand new supplies to help them be successful for the upcoming school year.
