Jennifer Brubaker, Executive Director, Gianna House
Winning Futures Class of 2000

Growing up, Jennifer bounced around from school to school until she finally landed at Cousino High School in Warren. When she started in the Winning Futures program, she was suffering from low self-esteem and didn’t believe she had a positive future ahead of her. Program facilitators at the time, Laurie Tarter and Kris Marshall, and counselor Rob Davidson helped Jennifer change her mindset. They gave her the love and support she was missing at home that helped her see that she was important and could reach her goals. Jennifer graduated from high school and attended Macomb Community College for a year, then transferred to Central Michigan University where she received her bachelor’s degree in psychology. Today, Jennifer is the executive director at Gianna House, which provides support for pregnant women and shelter for pregnant teens, and spends time with her family giving back to her community.

“Without Winning Futures, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” said Jennifer. “They gave me the hope, courage, and strength to ultimately trust myself and achieve my goals.”
