This year will start our 21st year of mentoring in Metro Detroit. We converted most of our mentoring programs into full year mentoring, which lasts between 20-25 weeks. Our full year programs consist of Community High (Warren), Cass Technical High (Detroit), Cornerstone Health + Technology High (Detroit), Harper Woods High, Pontiac Academy for Excellence and Warren Mott. We have semester long programming (12-15 weeks) at Madison High in Madison Heights.
A big thanks to the 87 new volunteer mentors who joined the Winning Futures family this fall. We could not do what we do without the commitment of all of our volunteers. Dedicated volunteers have helped Winning Futures become what it is today. By sharing your time and special skills you play an important part in helping us to meet the needs of our students. We are proud of how Winning Futures has progressed over the past 20 years and pleased that you have chosen to join us. We anticipate that soon, you too, will feel the pride that comes from being a Winning Futures Volunteer!
To our 101 veteran mentors, we are so grateful you are returning to the classroom with us again this year. Your participation in our schools plays a significant part in the special experience that our students look forward to each year.
