With only a few more weeks left in our Mentoring Program for 2015-2016, we are beginning to gear up for next school year. With over 600 students each year across 7 schools, we are looking to fill volunteer slots for over 160 mentors for our full year program! It’s a big task and growing every year. We wouldn’t be able to do it without the help of partnering companies who allow their employees to donate their time to change the lives of youth across metro Detroit. We call these companies “Mentoring Champions”.
Companies who are Mentoring Champions allow us to come to a meeting on site at their location to tell employees about the amazing opportunity to serve as a mentor for one hour a week during the school year. We then sign up employees and enroll them in our process. If a company is able to commit to having 5 employees mentor with us, then they are awarded the title “Mentoring Champion” and promoted in our materials.
