Winning Futures, an award-winning nonprofit organization that empowers young people to succeed through mentoring, strategic planning, and workforce preparation elected Matt Joshua as a new board member this year. Matt Joshua is the Global Purchasing Executive Director of Electrical Systems and Advanced Products for General Motors.

Mr. Joshua first became involved as the 2017 Event Chair for Corks & Forks, an annual fundraiser for Winning Futures.  Through his efforts, the event raised $290,000 in proceeds, up from the $68,000 raised in 2016. After the event, Mr. Joshua joined the board of directors to further impact the students in the program. He is continuing to engage companies to be involved as sponsors and to provide resources to the students.

“The mission of Winning Futures instantly resonated with the challenges in my own high school.  I see participation as a great way to use my success to not only give back, but show appreciation for those who helped me,” stated Mr. Joshua.

The President and CEO of Winning Futures, Kristina Marshall, is elated about the impact Matt is making.

“Matt Joshua is one of those board members you dream of – passionate, dedicated, and excited to ask his network for funds and resources. He has a way to get others to be enthusiastic about the mission of Winning Futures and inspires them to support our students.”

Matt oversees GM’s global spend related to vehicle electrical components and systems and has been with the company full-time since 1999. Prior to his current assignment, Matt was Purchasing Director, General Motors, Information Technology; responsible for the global IT hardware, software, and services buy. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in electrical engineering from Purdue University.
