Winning Futures Celebrations Go Virtual

When Michigan schools abruptly shut down in March, ending our program was not an option.  We knew that, in the midst of a pandemic, students need us now more than ever. So, over the course of the past three months, to continue engaging and supporting our students, we held 126 Zoom meetings, sent 15,800 texts and 2,500 emails, made 162 calls, and published an online series of at-home life skill development activities for teens based on our award-winning, evidence-based curriculum…and we did not stop there!

Program facilitators traditionally hold a celebration in each class at the end of the schoolyear to honor the hard work of our students and mentors. Although this year ended much differently than we ever could have imagined, we continued our longstanding tradition and hosted virtual celebrations!

Check out the below photo montage that was shown during our virtual celebration for our students at Mumford Highs School, second hour.

We are actively recruiting virtual mentors for the 2020-21 schoolyear. It’s safe. It’s fun. It’s impactful. Apply online by Aug. 15.
