We are very pleased to announce that we recently received a one-year grant from the FCA Foundation, the charitable arm of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The grant will support tenth and eleventh-grade students in our experiential Workforce Prep program as they learn critical life skills necessary to succeed and explore career options.
“This is the first year we’ll have students in both our tenth and eleventh grade mentoring program,” said Kristina Marshall, our president and CEO. “The FCA Foundation’s support allows us to provide these students with invaluable life experiences as they prepare and plan for their future.”
Workforce Prep is our new, evidence-based, four-year in-class program that transforms students into self-reliant, employable, and productive adults with defined academic and career goals, and highly desirable workforce skills. Our 2019-20 program includes 150 local business professionals who serve as mentors at Cass Technical High School (Detroit), Mumford High School (Detroit), Warren Mott High School (Warren), Southfield High School for the Arts and Technology (Southfield), Harper Woods High School (Harper Woods), Community High School (Sterling Heights), and Pontiac Academy for Excellence (Pontiac).
