After graduating high school from Warren Mott High School, I received a track scholarship to a junior college in the area. I graduated with a criminal justice degree and interned with the Macomb Sheriff’s Department. My career changed when I was given the opportunity to work with my father in finance. I am currently in Financial Shared Services at Kelly Services. I married my high school sweetheart and we have awesome eight- year old twins.
I have to say that Winning Futures definitely put me on the path to success. I can thank Winning Futures for many of my visions coming to fruition with the goal-setting strategies I learned. Winning Futures taught me that sometimes an obstacle is just a minor bump in the road, not a road block. When I could see that I was not likely going to have the career that I degreed in, I switched gears into something that interested me a bit more.
Over the years, I find subtle hints of Winning Futures sneaking into my life. It is common to find me setting an objective and listing the exact steps on how to achieve what I want. I have taught my daughters many of the things I have learned as far as setting long-term and short-goals. Most importantly, that anything is attainable with the right attitude and work ethic! – Lori Gulecki
