Tony Tomczak and Brandon Leslie Appointed New Board Members

We welcome Tony Tomczak, vice president of corporate services and chief procurement officer for DTE Energy, and Brandon Leslie, vice president – industrial at Barton Malow Company, to our Board of Directors.

“I’m continually inspired by my company and by Winning Futures for their work in helping students develop a clear path toward a successful future,” said Tony. “I look forward to using my leadership skills to help this amazing organization build an even better tomorrow for the young people in our community.”

At DTE, Tony is responsible for strategic management of procurement, supplier performance management, warehousing, fleet, facilities, and real estate organizations. He also leads implementation of environmental sustainability projects within DTE’s buildings, fleet vehicles and supply chain, and local and diverse supplier initiatives. Tomczak serves on the board of directors of the National Minority Supplier Development Council and is a member of the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council Executive Finance Committee.

“Tony brings an acute understanding of business and problem solving, especially from the nonprofit perspective,” said Kristina Marshall, president and CEO. “His leadership will undoubtedly help our students, especially as we navigate the ongoing challenges of COVID-19.”

Brandon is a seasoned executive with broad knowledge and specialized competency in heavy industrial construction. At Barton Malow, he provides overall management and direction to Industrial projects and develops new business opportunities. Brandon specializes in building teams and trust-based relationships; knowing that teams built on trust deliver superior project outcomes.

“I was blessed with wonderful mentors who helped me better understand all the opportunities that hard work and education offered,” said Brandon. “I hope that my participation will help youth find a profession that gives them pride and the ability to ‘give back’ to their communities.”

“We are elated to have Brandon join our board,” said Kristina. “He brings to us a wealth of knowledge and experience in the construction industry that will inevitably help our students as they explore careers, learn about skilled trades opportunities, and plan for their future.”
