We are very pleased to announce that Ruomu Hu has been elected to our Board of Directors.
“Everyone deserves a fair chance at the American dream,” said Ruomu. “Seeing the fundamental impacts Winning Futures has made for these beautiful young minds and their bright futures has made me a firm believer and loyal supporter. I’m thrilled to be a part of this organization and use my skills and network to help Metro Detroit students.”
In addition to her passion for helping students achieve their dreams, Ruomu also brings to the board a diverse scope of experience and networks within the automotive, music, and entertainment industries. Her career started as an engineering intern at General Motors and includes progressive leadership roles within DiamlerChrysler and Harman International.
Today, Ruomu is the vice president and general manager of the Customer Business Unit at Harman International, a Samsung Company. Her work includes growing Harman’s customer partnerships, market presence, revenue, and profitability. She also leads and mentors cross-functional teams at all levels through the process of strategic business planning, business development, and product lifecycle management.
“I’m so happy to have Ruomu join our board,” said Kris Marshall, president and CEO. “Her involvement with us started in 2018 as a donor and over the years progressed to sponsor and advisory board member. As a member of our Board of Directors, she brings a unique combination of skills and experience that will undoubtedly help us better support our Workforce Prep students.”
Ruomu is a graduate Purdue University, University of Michigan, Chrysler Institute of Engineering, and Stanford. In addition to attending our fabulous Corks & Forks annual gala, she enjoys art, golfing, fitness and travel.
