The 2017-18 school year has begun and Winning Futures has 175 mentors (see attached photos) trained and eager to help the 558 students in grades 10-12 improve their futures through our 22-week program that teaches life skills, goal setting, strategic planning, and career readiness.
Sessions this year begin this month at Cass Tech (Detroit), Community High School (Warren), Cornerstone Health and Technology High School (Detroit), Harper Woods High School, Madison High School (Madison Heights), Pontiac Academy for Excellence, and Warren Mott High School.
We thank the students and mentors who are taking part, and we can’t wait to hear the stories of success and transformation. Statistics tell us both groups will benefit greatly:
Last year, 85 percent of students who finished the program said their self-confidence was increased, and an average of 90 percent of mentors said the experience improved their work skills and attitude.
