As a student at Warren Mott High School, Katie was confused about her college academic plans. Her mentor, Julie Osburn, director at Wayne State University, helped Katie figure out her interests and identify a career path that aligned with her passion for helping others. Today, Katie is a sophomore at Michigan State University where she majors in global and international studies with a focus on international development. She is excited to embark on a summer 2020 internship in Greece where she’ll have the opportunity to help refugees.
“Winning Futures helped me figure out how I could turn the best parts of myself into a career I would love,” said Katie. “I discovered that I wanted to spend my life managing programs in the developing world. After graduating I hope to join the Peace Corps.”
