Kristina Marshall, M.E.d. - President & CEO

Kris was a student in the inaugural Winning Futures high school mentoring class in 1994. After graduating from college she was recruited by our founder, Sam Cupp, and joined our team in 1998. Since then, Kris has made Winning Futures her life’s mission, leading the development of Winning Futures into a nationally recognized and award-winning expert in empowering high school students to succeed.

Today, Kris is the president and chief executive officer. Recognizing that many high school students struggle with challenges, ranging from poverty to lack of support, and leave school lacking skills companies want in their employees, Kris worked with her team to develop Workforce Prep – a new, cutting-edge experiential four-year program that includes in-class mentoring, life skill development, goal setting, job readiness training, and career exploration.

“Today’s business world is quickly and significantly evolving with new technologies in automation and artificial intelligence,” said Kris. “It’s important now more than ever that we prepare our students for life after high school, giving them the knowledge and skills they will need to adapt and succeed in a quickly and drastically changing work environment.”

Kris has received numerous awards and recognitions including Crain’s 40 Under 40, is the past chair of the Mentor Michigan Providers Council, and currently serves on Comerica Bank’s Michigan Community Development Advisory Council. Success Magazine published a feature article about Kris in June 2014. Kris is a past president of EO (The Entrepreneurs' Organization) Detroit; a global organization for business owners. She was the chapter's first female president and is the only non-profit member of the group.

Kris speaks nationally and inspires audiences about the future of work, developing the next workforce, non-profit networking and sales, and empowering youth through life skills programs. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Michigan Technological University and a Master of Education from Oakland University.
