Kayla Lewis - College Match Manager
Kayla is a passionate student advocate and proud alum of Winning Futures who is excited to give back to the very program that helped shape her journey. She joined Winning Futures in May 2026 as a College Match Manager, where she supports students through mentorship, encouragement, and college success programming designed to help students stay in school, earn a degree, and land a job in their chosen career field. .
Kayla earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Master of Social Work from Michigan State University. As both an alum and program assistant with the MSU TRIO program, she worked closely with first-generation and underrepresented students through mentoring, student engagement, and academic support initiatives. She also worked with the Office of Student Support and Accountability’s CARE and Intervention team, where she supported student well-being and success through outreach and resource connection. Kayla also worked as a teacher at the Detroit Zoo, combining education and relationship-building to create meaningful learning experiences for youth.
“I believe the next generation needs support now like never before,” Kayla said. “As student support staff, our intention should always be to encourage and speak life into our students. I’m grateful to now give back to a program that poured into me.”
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Kayla enjoys journaling, working out, reading, listening to podcasts and Christian music, traveling, and spending time with her mom and her dog, Diezel.
