Rob Otto - Program Facilitator

Rob Otto has been on our Winning Futures team since August, 2012, and facilitates several of our in-class programs. He works directly with our partner schools leading volunteer mentors and their students through our workforce prep and life skill development curriculum.

Prior to joining Winning Futures, Rob was a sports broadcaster in Detroit on both radio and regional television networks. He hosted shows, performed sports updates, and called live games for high school, college, and professional teams. Rob perfected his ability to inform and entertain as a broadcaster, and that has translated very well into presenting our program while keeping students and mentors engaged and motivated.

Rob’s affiliation with Winning Futures began well before he joined our staff. As a volunteer through a partnership with the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, he fell in love with our program and its impact on our students and the community. The decision to join our staff was easy for Rob.

“I realized that while I was fulfilling my career dreams, I was not making Detroit and Michigan any better for the next generation,” Rob recalls. “I saw the positive effect Winning Futures was having on youth in our community, and I wanted to be a bigger part of that. Joining Winning Futures is the best decision I ever made.”

Rob is a lifelong Michigander and a 1993 graduate of Central Michigan University. He loves our local sports teams and is an avid comic book enthusiast with a collection of over 7,000 books, some dating back to the 1940s.
