Job Title: Grant Writer

Location: Warren, MI (After training period: Monday and Wednesday at the office, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday choose to work at home or at the office)

Hours: Full-time

Join the Winning Futures team and help us prepare teens for success! This full-time position is for an experienced grant writer who will be responsible for writing grants, grant reports, funding letters, and proposals. You will also track information related to these items in our CRM/database. Your efforts will help us secure resources to make an impact on our students!

Through our evidence-based and structured Workforce Prep program, students throughout Metro Detroit are immersed in a multi-year experiential curriculum that begins in tenth grade and continues throughout college.   • Research grants for new funding opportunities.
  • Maintain a timeline for applications and reports and complete those before the due date.
  • Write and submit grants for new funds and to re-apply to current foundations. We currently do not apply for federal grants.
  • Update and create attachments for grant applications.
  • Prepare and submit grant reports.
  • Write donor ask letters and proposals.
  • Enter data into our CRM system (Sumac) to track potential grants/donors, applications, reports, and benefits (we will train you).
  • Proofread materials across the organization (program emails, PowerPoint slides for trainings and student sessions, reports for schools, communication plans, etc.)
  • Help create process documents across the organization.
  • Other duties as needed.

  • CRM OR DATABASE EXPERIENCE: Using or managing an online CRM is preferred.

Experience: This position requires 3+ years of experience as a professional grant writer who has success with applications being funded, and requires completion of a certification program, associate degree, or higher.
