Taylor Carter-Willbanks, M.A. – Development Associate

Taylor is a mission-driven professional with a passion for service-oriented work. She joined our team in September 2021 as a development associate.

In previous roles as a grant writer, Taylor secured nearly $700,000 in private foundation, federal, and corporate giving monies for child victims of abuse and neglect, renewable energy installations, and equity initiatives. As a member of our development team, she is involved in grant research, preparation, submission, and stewardship; in-house editing; and other fundraising initiatives.

“I always knew that I wanted to live a life of purpose; to not only enjoy going to work every day, but to know that going to work was helping to heal the world in some small way. Joining the Winning Futures team has given me the opportunity to do just that, and to do so alongside some of Michigan’s most dedicated nonprofit professionals.”

As the child of a military service member, Taylor had the good fortune of growing up in and traveling to some incredible places. She earned her Master of Art degree in English Literature from the University of West Florida where she was a member of the English Honors Society and a founding member of the student organization, the Women’s Studies Collective. After moving to Michigan, she took up aerial arts and became a performing member of the Detroit Circus. Although Taylor no longer performs or teaches aerial arts, in her free time you can still catch her flying high in aerial class, creating in her clay studio, or enjoying live music in Metro Detroit.
