Shaina Davidson – Program Associate

Shaina is a thought-leader and change-maker who has been serving in Metro Detroit through community focused non-profits since 2014. She came to us in September of 2021, excited to join a team that is dedicated to empowering local high school students for success.

After serving as an AmeriCorps Member for a program centered around Detroit youth, Shaina dedicated herself to a purpose-driven career; joining a local non-profit committed to making environmental sustainability accessible for Detroit families. Shaina returned to youth-focused service 5 years later when she managed, coached, and developed AmeriCorps Members as they provided academic and emotional support for students enrolled in Detroit public schools. In spring 2021, Shaina was recognized as Michigan's AmeriCorps Site Supervisor of the Month by the Michigan Community Service Commission.

Shaina loves living in Detroit and exploring the past, present, and future of the community through the many experiences unique to the city. In her time off she enjoys finding adventures in the ordinary with her husband, Waleed, and her family and friends. Laughter is a hobby of hers and finding comedy in the human experience brings her much joy.
